Manchester's Great Green Neighbourhoods Gardening Competition '09

14/07/2009

As part of Proud of Manchester programme, Manchester's green-fingered residents are invited to show off their skills in a city-wide gardening competition, with cash prizes of up to £500 on offer in the Manchester City Council organised competition.

Judges want to see bright, colourful, innovative displays using your own designs and ideas, with appropriate planting. Make the best use of your space and get extra points for environmental awareness features like composters, water butts and wormeries and use of peat-free products. We are also going to be paying special attention to front gardens and those that have an impact on the wider community.

The competition is open to all Manchester residents:

private tenants, as well as
tenants of the City Council
Adactus
City South Manchester Housing
Eastlands Homes
Grove Village/Harvest Housing/MDHA
Irwell Valley
Northwards Housing and
Southway Housing Trust
The closing date for schools entering is Friday 3 July, all other entries must be received by Friday 24 July 2009 so it's still not too late to enter!

For more information or to request an entry form please contact the Environmental Campaigns Team on 0161 953 2733 or email campaigns.team@manchester.gov.uk
