Manchester's Great Green Neighbourhoods Gardening Competition
19/05/2010
Summer is almost here and once again it's time for Manchester's Gardeners to show off the hard work they've been putting into their gardens throughout the past year.
Last year’s competition was a resounding success and featured some truly outstanding entries, which made the judges job quite difficult! It also gave us a real insight into just how much people across the city value and enjoy creating green spaces to live and relax in.
We're keen to build on this success and looking forward to there being just as many fantastic gardens for us to view in 2010.
The categories for this year are:
- Best Garden (Non-Private Housing*)
- Best Private Garden (Terrace/Town House)
- Best Private Garden (Detached/Semi-Detached)
- Best Communal Area (Including Best Street)
- Best Nursery/Crèche - Under 5s
- Best School - Under 11s
- Best High School - 11 to 18
- Grow Your Own
- Contribution to the Community
The deadline for 2010 entries is Friday 18 June. Judging is set to begin in July and winners will be announced at an awards event on 27 October.
Full competition rules, regulations and details of the prizes on offer can be found on the entry forms.
To obtain a form you can visit your local library, sport centre or the Town Hall. Alternatively, if you contact 0161 953 2733 we can send you one in the post.
Good luck!
