Fairtrade Fortnight runs from Monday 26th February till Sunday 11th March, Manchester is a Fairtrade City and we have lota of fun events around the city.

Fairtrade is not about charity; it is about providing farmers with a fair price for their crops, so that they can invest sustainably in their businesses and develop their communities. This means that investment is monitored and that educational, healthcare and environmental projects are all part of the requirements of the Fairtrade Foundation accrediting a company.
Manchester is officially a Fairtrade City and the Council are trying to set an example to the rest of Manchester by buying Fairtrade products such as tea, coffee, bananas and orange juice. We now need your support to go even further. The FAIRTRADE MARK is your guarantee that farmers will be protected from unscrupulous middlemen, who aim to exploit them and we would like you to help us support and promote this guarantee in your day-to-day life.
Manchester Markets run speciality monthly Fairly-traded and Organic markets on the first saturday of each month between 10am and 5pm at Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester City Centre.
The Farmers' Producers' market is held twice monthly on the second and fourth weekend (Friday and Saturday) of each month froom 10am to 6pm at Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester City Centre.
