Waterways
Do you know how many rivers and canals run through Manchester…?
…and if you're smart enough to know that the answer's eight, can you name them all?
Manchester's waterways are a major asset and add incredible value to life in the city; they're an important focus and provide great opportunities to raise perceptions and economic values through links to regeneration, the environment and transportation, and provide a vital link with our industrial heritage.
This is recognised in Manchester City Council's Unitary Development Plan (UDP)
