wildaboutmanchester

Wildaboutmanchester is an easier-to-remember name for Manchester City Council’s biodiversity strategy. Biodiversity means everything that is alive: all plants and animals, as well as their habitats and the things that link them to each other and their surroundings. It’s not just about rare or threatened creatures or plants however; it’s about the whole of the natural world, right down to the most common worm, tree or insect.

The WildaboutManchester events campaign is into its fourth year and is just getting better and better. This year we’ll be working with the BBC Breathing Places team to run a Year of Wild Action, which fits in nicely with any nature conservation events you may wish to run or attend.

wildaboutmanchester events are often arranged with schools as part of the curriculum. They focus on learning about different species, why they’re important, how we can help them thrive, and generally include a practical session. wildaboutmanchester events are also arranged for anyone to attend in Manchester’s parks, because wildabout isn’t just for children - they’re great fun for the whole family.
